Armington –
William Walker Dickson, 88 of Armington died at 8:40 p.m. Monday at his home,
following a long illness. The body was taken to the Quiram Funeral chapel in
Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Armington
Christian Church. The Rev. Robert Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Oak
View cemetery, Armington. He was born
Oct 1, 1860 in Putnam County Indiana son of John and Harriet Sparks Dickson. He
moved to near Armington 58 years ago. He married Mary Caroline Balock, Sept 7,
1884 in Waynesville, Mo. She preceded him in death. He retired from farming in
1940 and moved to Armington. Surviving are five children: Clarence and Miss
Pearl Dickson at home; Mrs. Cora Taylor, Lincoln; Mrs. Nettie Leach, Armington;
Mrs. Sylvia Israel, Decatur; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a son. He was a
member of Armington Christian Church. -
